Three Ninja Gaiden Titles Depart Xbox Game Pass on September 30, 2025

Xbox Game Pass subscribers are facing another wave of departures as three classic Ninja Gaiden titles prepare to leave the service on September 30, 2025. The removal of Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge brings the total number of September 30 departures to six games, marking a significant shift in the subscription library.

Throughout 2025, Microsoft has maintained its established pattern of removing titles from Xbox Game Pass every two weeks. The previous wave on September 15 saw the departure of All You Need is Help, Wargroove 2, and We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie. Now, another trio of games follows the same exit pattern, continuing the regular rotation that keeps the service fresh but requires subscribers to stay informed about upcoming changes.

The three departing Ninja Gaiden games form the core of the Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, which originally launched for PC and consoles in June 2021. This compilation has been available through Xbox Game Pass since June 2022, giving subscribers nearly three years of access to these challenging action titles. With a tenure of three years and three months, the Master Collection has enjoyed a longer stay on Microsoft's subscription service than many third-party releases typically manage.

The departure list was originally set to include four games, with Terra Invicta, a PC-exclusive 4X strategy title currently in early access, initially announced for removal. However, Microsoft made an unusual reversal by retracting Terra Invicta's departure notice, shortening the removal list in a move that's rarely seen from the company. The reason behind this change remains unclear—whether it was an initial announcement error or a last-minute licensing extension that preserved the game's availability. If it was indeed an error, Terra Invicta might still exit the service in the near future.

While the service loses three Ninja Gaiden titles, fans of the franchise have something to look forward to in October. Ninja Gaiden 4 is scheduled to join Xbox Game Pass on October 21 as a day-one release, available to both PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This positions the new installment firmly within the Wave 2 lineup for October, followed by Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault and Bounty Star, both also launching as day-one titles on October 23.

The next scheduled wave of departures from Xbox Game Pass is expected around October 16, with announcements likely coming approximately a week in advance, around October 7, based on Microsoft's recent communication patterns. This timing coincides with the arrival of two new games to the service: Little Rocket Lab and Sopa - Tale of the Stolen Potato.
