Pokemon Gen 10 Leaks: Ride Mechanic Revealed, Major Features Reportedly Scrapped
2025-12-04 02:37:32This article discusses potential spoilers for the upcoming tenth generation of Pokemon games.
Fresh leaks concerning Pokemon Generation 10 have surfaced, providing a glimpse into the games' signature ride mechanic while simultaneously indicating that several ambitious features, including MMO-like elements, have been removed from the current development build. Following the massive data breach known as the TeraLeak last year, many assumed that future information dumps about Gen 10 would be scarce. However, a new wave of details emerged online in early October, originating from a source that has reportedly shared internal Game Freak development documents, making many aspects of the next mainline titles public knowledge.
While specifics about the Gen 10 starter Pokemon remain unclear, numerous other significant details have been leaked, such as:
- The purported titles Pokemon Wind and Pokemon Wave.
- The box Legendaries are described as having grandfather (Wind) and grandmother (Wave) themes.
- Core themes of "infinity," exploration, and survival.
- A Southeast Asian and Indonesian-inspired archipelago region.
- The concept of "Seed Pokemon," a creature with procedurally generated patterns.
- "Weather Moves" as the new battle gimmick.
- Exclusivity to the Nintendo Switch 2.
- Claims that all Pokemon could be petted or ridden.
- New models for all Pokemon.
- A world built with procedurally generated islands.
- MMO-like social and gameplay features.
A recent image shared by the known leaker Centro Leaks appears to show a new traversal tool for Gen 10: the Rotom Scooter. This device seems to function similarly to the Rotom Bike from Pokemon Sword and Shield, allowing trainers to travel across the land. The leak suggests a novel twist: the scooter can be attached to a Pokemon via an "energy leash," inheriting that creature's movement capabilities. For instance, pairing with a Flying-type Pokemon would enable gliding and flight, while a Water-type would grant the ability to surf or dive.
However, Centro Leaks also reports that the game's scope has evolved significantly since the initial pitch. Many of the previously leaked features may no longer be part of the Gen 10 experience:
- Procedural Generation and MMO Features Scrapped: The ambitious procedural generation system was reportedly cut and developed into a separate project, which was later canceled, eventually giving rise to the concept of Pokopia. Similarly, the MMO-like features have been removed from Gen 10 and are now part of another distinct project—a previously leaked MMO that encompasses regions from Generations 1 through 4.
- Revised Ride and Pet Mechanics: Contrary to earlier claims, the ride mechanic will not be available for all Pokemon, and players will not directly ride the creatures themselves. There is also no current mention of a universal petting feature for all Pokemon.
- Hint of Mega Evolution's Return: The leaked build reportedly includes a bag pocket designated for Mega Stones, hinting that the mechanic from Pokemon Legends: Z-A may return in future games beyond Pokemon Champions. No actual Mega Stones were found in the build, however.
While the core setting, titles, Weather Moves gimmick, and Switch 2 exclusivity are still expected to remain, other elements are in flux. The leaks also mention the absence of traditional Gyms and the theoretical possibility of challenging the game's final boss immediately after leaving the starting island. It now appears that the "Seed Pokemon" concept and the procedurally generated islands will not feature in the final version of Pokemon Generation 10.
