Pokemon GO has heard the community's call and is increasing the frequency of wild Pokemon encounters. This change directly addresses feedback, particularly from rural players who have long requested more opportunities to encounter Pokemon in their area.

Finding Pokemon in the real world is the core of Pokemon GO, but spawn rates haven't always met player expectations.  Rural players, often feeling overlooked, have consistently voiced concerns about limited spawns. This update aims to enhance the gameplay experience for everyone, making it easier to discover Pokemon and bringing the game closer to its original vision.

A recent example of a dedicated player's impressive catch streak highlights the importance of frequent encounters.  This player's dedication over nearly a year demonstrates the community's passion for finding and collecting Pokemon.

Niantic's announcement confirms increased spawns across various locations, including rural, densely populated, suburban, and developing areas. This broader approach aims to boost not only the number of spawns but also expand the areas where Pokemon appear. The update is expected to roll out ahead of the Pokemon GO Tour: Hoenn, though a specific release date hasn't been announced.

The Road to Hoenn announcement also revealed a visual update to the Pokedex.  This redesign aims to simplify identifying caught and missing Pokemon.  Previews in the Dual Destiny season trailer showcased a region-based Pokedex view, displaying capture progress and total counts for each region.

While the exact date remains unknown, the increased wild spawns are welcome news, adding to an already exciting lineup of events.  From the arrival of Dynamax Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres to the Lunar New Year event and the upcoming GO Tour: Hoenn,  February is packed with activities.  Further events like Small Yet Strong, Beloved Buddies, and Community Day promise even more excitement.
