The indie horror game Mouthwashing has officially surpassed 500,000 sales on PC and is now heading to consoles. Developer Wrong Organ and publisher Critical Reflex announced the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch releases, partnering with Fangamer to offer physical editions alongside digital copies.

Originally launched for PC on September 26, 2024, Mouthwashing quickly gained recognition as one of the top horror games of the year. Players experience the chilling narrative through the eyes of various crew members trapped on a wrecked space freighter, battling starvation, isolation, and descending madness.

The console release allows a wider audience to delve into this unsettling sci-fi horror experience.  While a precise release date is yet to be confirmed, the developers have stated Mouthwashing will arrive on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles sometime in 2025.

The physical edition teaser image showcases both PS5 and Switch versions, though it remains unclear if other platforms will be included in the console launch.  Beyond the game itself, fans can anticipate additional merchandise, such as apparel, plushies, and vinyl records, coinciding with the console release.

The developers hinted at further exciting news, cryptically stating, "we hope to gather 'round again like this when we reach 999,000 sales."
