Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered Finally Gets Official Steam Achievements

In a welcome surprise for fans, Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered has finally received official achievement support on Steam, nearly six years after its release.

This update is part of Ubisoft's ongoing efforts to improve their back catalog.  Recent updates include a 60 FPS patch for Far Cry New Dawn on next-gen consoles and the addition of achievements to Watch Dogs (2013).

While Assassin's Creed 3 had its flaws, Connor Kenway remains a popular protagonist with a compelling story. Hopefully, with this update, more players will experience his journey.

The newly added achievements are available for the base game, the Tyranny of King Washington expansion, and the bundled Assassin's Creed Liberation.  Crucially, achievements are retrospectively unlockable, rewarding players for past accomplishments.  Even owners of the original Assassin's Creed 3 will benefit from this feature.

Despite this positive update, Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered still faces challenges.  User reviews on Steam reflect a mixed reception, citing bugs and poor optimization as ongoing concerns.  The remaster currently holds a 'Mixed' rating on the platform, based on over 10,500 reviews.  While the addition of achievements is a step in the right direction, further updates addressing these technical issues are needed to improve the game's standing among players.

Recent discussions surrounding Assassin's Creed 3 have also focused on the possibility of cut content appearing in the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows.  As the release date of March 20th draws closer, fans are eager to see how Shadows connects to previous entries in the series.
