The Gears of War saga, spanning nearly two decades, boasts a compelling roster of villains, each leaving their mark through intimidation, effectiveness, and overall impact on the narrative.

Journalist Jez Corden recently ignited discussion, claiming the rumored collection might forego multiplayer entirely. This news potentially disappoints those eager to relive the original trilogy's online battles.  Initial expectations envisioned a release akin to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, featuring complete multiplayer suites for each included title. However, Corden's insights suggest a different approach, prioritizing the acclaimed Gears of War campaigns.

The rationale behind a potential multiplayer omission remains speculative.  With Gears of War: E-Day on the horizon, The Coalition might aim to consolidate the player base around the newer title.  This, however, remains conjecture.  Corden clarifies that co-op features are expected, leaving uncertainty about the inclusion of the popular Horde mode, introduced in Gears of War 2 and 3.

Current speculation indicates Gears of War: E-Day might slip past its initial 2025 projection, potentially targeting a 2026 launch.  Announced in mid-2024, this prequel delves into the series' backstory, reintroducing iconic protagonists Marcus and Dom.  Should the collection release this year, it offers a prime opportunity to refresh the narrative leading up to E-Day.
