Split Fiction Coming to Nintendo Switch 2: Price, Pre-Order Details, and Features

Electronic Arts has officially announced that the critically acclaimed co-op game Split Fiction will arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 with a price tag of $49.99. Pre-orders for the game will go live on April 24, giving fans of Hazelight Studios' latest masterpiece a chance to secure their copy ahead of the console's summer launch. Since its release in March 2025, Split Fiction has dominated the gaming scene, and now Nintendo Switch 2 owners will experience it in a whole new way.

Among the few 2025 releases that have achieved a stellar critic score of 90, Split Fiction stands tall alongside the puzzle adventure Blue Prince. Much like Hazelight's previous Game of the Year winner, It Takes Two, Split Fiction is a split-screen multiplayer experience that challenges two players to collaborate through a series of inventive and demanding puzzles. The narrative follows two authors, Mio Hudson and Zoe Foster, who find themselves trapped inside their own fictional worlds, battling a machine designed to steal their creative ideas. Confirmed as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, new details about the port have now emerged.

In a recent blog post on EA's official website, the company confirmed the pricing and pre-order details for Split Fiction on the Nintendo Switch 2. The $49.99 price point matches the cost of the game on other platforms, ensuring fairness for Nintendo players. Additionally, Hazelight Studio Founder Josef Fares and Chief Operating Officer Oskar Wolontis revealed in a Creator's Voice video that the game will fully utilize the Nintendo Switch 2's GameShare and GameChat features. Players on the original Switch can also join in, as Cross Play will be enabled, allowing seamless multiplayer sessions with just one purchased copy.

Shortly after the game's release, a film adaptation of Split Fiction was announced, with Story Kitchen handling the project. This isn't Hazelight's first venture into adaptations—It Takes Two is also being developed into both a film and TV series by dj2 Entertainment Studios. While no release dates have been confirmed, fans are eagerly anticipating these adaptations.

Despite Hazelight's reputation for co-op experiences, some players are curious about the studio's potential in single-player games. In March, Fares stated that the team remains committed to two-player titles, though a solo adventure isn't entirely off the table.
