Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Reintroduces Blueprint Swap Feature in Latest Update
2025-05-08 19:21:14The gaming community is buzzing with excitement as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 finally brings back the much-demanded Blueprint Swap feature in its newest update. This innovative functionality enables players to apply unlocked skins to any base weapon or blueprint in their arsenal. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 initially introduced this feature during Season 1, only to remove it mysteriously after a brief period.
Following its abrupt disappearance nearly six months ago, the Call of Duty community has been vocal about their desire to see this popular customization option return to Black Ops 6. Treyarch Studios remained silent about the feature's removal, leaving players puzzled. While the developers promised its return with Season 3 in April, the feature was conspicuously absent. Now, as Season 4 approaches, Treyarch has finally delivered on their promise, reinstating this beloved customization tool.
On May 7, Treyarch Studios rolled out a significant update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, implementing numerous stability improvements and bug fixes across Multiplayer and Zombies modes. However, the standout addition was the revival of the Blueprint Swap feature, granting players unprecedented control over their weapon aesthetics. This system permits customization of any Black Ops 6 weapon or blueprint using unlocked or purchased skins. While weapon blueprints allow for individual attachment customization, base weapons can only have their complete skin altered.
Players eager to personalize their armory can navigate to the "skins" tab within Black Ops 6's Gunsmith to view and modify currently equipped skins. Treyarch Studios has clarified that certain Mastercraft blueprints maintain their distinctive visual elements on specific components like barrels and stocks, regardless of attachment changes.
In conjunction with the Black Ops 6 patch, Call of Duty: Warzone also received an update on May 7. This update brought significant balance changes, including nerfs to popular weapons like the CR-56 AMAX Assault Rifle and HDR Sniper Rifle, while unexpectedly buffing the Krig C.
