The rescheduled content updates for Natlan strongly suggest Genshin Impact will omit its Summer Event for the first time. Version 5.7 won't include any map expansions, requiring players to wait until Version 5.8 to conclude their Natlan exploration. Given that new zones and Summer Events have never coincided, Mare Jivari appears positioned as Version 5.8's primary content.

Enjou reappeared in Natlan during Kinich's Tribal Chronicle and expressed interest in visiting Mare Jivari during Version 5.2. Should the Traveler and Paimon journey to Mare Jivari in Version 5.8, players will likely reunite with this popular Abyss Lector.

Mare Jivari offers advantages over temporary Summer Events through its permanence. By Version 6.0, this zone should remain accessible for exploration, as completing Natlan's Tablet of Tona will require it. Version 6.0 will transport players to Nod-Krai, an autonomous province bordering Snezhnaya's southern territories. While this new region launches in September, Version 5.8 arrives on July 30.
