Schedule 1 Temporarily Removed from Steam in Australia Due to Rating Requirements
2025-05-13 23:19:53The indie crime simulation Schedule 1, developed by TVGS, has unexpectedly vanished from Steam's Australian storefront. While this sudden disappearance caused concern among fans, the developer has confirmed this is a temporary measure while they obtain the mandatory age classification required for games sold in Australia.
Since its March 24 release, Schedule 1 has become one of 2025's surprise hits, attracting over 130,000 concurrent players within its first two days. The game puts players in the role of an aspiring drug lord, starting with small-time deliveries and gradually building a criminal empire through resource management, product crafting, and territory defense.
TVGS took to social media to explain the situation: "We weren't initially aware that PC games required formal classification in Australia. This was an oversight on our part, not a ban or removal by authorities." The developer has already begun working with Australia's classification board to resolve the matter promptly.
This isn't the first challenge Schedule 1 has faced. The game was previously investigated for potential copyright issues, though those concerns were ultimately dismissed without impacting the game's availability.
Despite these hurdles, TVGS continues to expand Schedule 1 with regular updates. The most recent patch introduced:
- New storage facilities with loading docks
- Additional employee management options
- Various quality-of-life improvements
The developer has outlined an ambitious roadmap, promising monthly content updates for the next 2-3 years before considering a full release. Planned improvements include enhanced inventory systems and workplace customization options.
