Fortnite OG Ranked Mode May Be Discontinued
2025-06-02 17:05:37A well-known Fortnite leaker has hinted that Epic Games might discontinue the ranked mode in Fortnite OG, introduced in December 2024. Fortnite recently made its comeback to Apple's App Store for iOS users in the U.S. after a prolonged absence.
To mark this milestone, Epic Games is offering a free cosmetic skin called Burnoff. Players must log into the mobile app by June 17 to claim it. Although the promotion celebrates Fortnite's iOS return, both Apple and Android users are eligible. The community has welcomed this news, as no challenges or quests are required to obtain the skin.
In a recent tweet, leaker HYPEX speculated that Epic Games could phase out Fortnite OG's ranked mode. Launched in December 2024, Fortnite OG allowed players to revisit the game's early days. Despite its strong initial player count, the mode may not have sustained enough activity for ranked matches. Earlier, Epic removed the ranked mode for Fortnite OG Zero Build due to "matchmaking health" concerns, raising the possibility of a similar decision here.
Epic Games has teased Chapter 6 Season 3's potential superhero theme. Leakers suggest the season could introduce original superhero designs, based on a recent survey. The current Galactic Battle season concludes on June 7 at 2 PM ET, following the Death Star Sabotage live event.
While original superheroes are expected, rumors also point to a crossover with the upcoming Superman film. Leakers claim players might even gain Superman-like abilities mid-match, similar to the Godzilla event in Chapter 6 Season 1. As always, these leaks remain unconfirmed until Epic Games makes an official announcement. With exciting content on the horizon, Fortnite's future looks promising.
