Marking its first appearance on Sony consoles, Gears of War: Reloaded will launch with a special physical edition for PlayStation 5—a feature currently unavailable for Xbox Series X/S versions. Scheduled for release on August 26 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, Gears of War: Reloaded brings a fresh remastered experience to the iconic third-person shooter's inaugural title. This marks the second remaster in the franchise's history, following 2015's Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

The arrival of Gears of War: Reloaded on PlayStation continues the trend of former Xbox exclusives expanding to Sony's platform, similar to Forza Horizon 5's recent transition. While rumors earlier this year suggested both Halo and Gears of War might come to PlayStation 5, only the latter has been confirmed so far. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has previously hinted that no first-party titles are permanently off-limits for cross-platform releases.

As reported by IGN, PlayStation 5 users have exclusive access to physical pre-orders, while both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S digital editions are priced at $39.99. Digital pre-order customers will gain entry to the exclusive multiplayer beta, with the first session running from June 13-15. All pre-orders include two special multiplayer skins featuring Adam Fenix and Anya Stroud, key characters from the original game's narrative.

Xbox loyalists aren't left out—owners of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition's digital version will receive free codes for Gears of War: Reloaded. Additionally, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass from launch day, with Ultimate and PC subscribers receiving the same beta access and bonus content as pre-order customers.

Promising significant visual enhancements across all platforms—including 4K resolution at 60 FPS for single-player and 120 FPS for online multiplayer—Gears of War: Reloaded will include all original post-launch content.
