Overwatch 2 Season 17 Bug Allows Heroes to Equip Multiple Perks
2025-06-25 06:10:04An unexpected bug has surfaced in Overwatch 2 Season 17, allowing characters to equip three or even four Perks during gameplay. While Blizzard will likely address this issue promptly, the unintended advantage is currently causing disruptions in competitive matches.
The launch of Overwatch 2 Season 17 introduced significant updates including dual Mythic skins, the new Aatlis Flashpoint map, three additional heroes for Stadium mode, and numerous hero adjustments across both game modes.
This game-breaking glitch enables players to select multiple Perks by rapidly pressing the selection buttons in sequence. Reddit user Stanners14 demonstrated this exploit in the Practice Range, confirming the interface allows stacking Perks from different tiers simultaneously.
Perks are designed as powerful modifiers that significantly alter hero abilities, with players normally limited to one Minor and one Major Perk. The ability to stack multiple Perks creates potentially game-breaking combinations, particularly if only certain heroes can exploit this bug.
Players should exercise caution when encountering this glitch, especially in Competitive Play, as Blizzard may penalize those who deliberately exploit it.
Season 17 has faced additional challenges including login queues exceeding 20,000 players and unusually large update files (up to 37GB on Xbox). While Blizzard works on solutions, players can claim two free Loot Boxes as Twitch Drops by watching five hours of Overwatch 2 streams before July 6.
