Rainbow Six Siege X Enhances Renown Rewards Following Player Feedback
2025-06-30 10:23:37Ubisoft has officially announced a significant improvement to the Renown currency system in Rainbow Six Siege X, addressing player concerns about reward rates. This adjustment comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance player satisfaction following the game's major June update.
Launched on June 10 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Rainbow Six Siege, Rainbow Six Siege X introduced Operation Daybreak - the most substantial update in the game's history. The update brought modernized maps, a new 6v6 game mode, audio enhancements, and various quality-of-life improvements that have been well-received by the community.
While the update successfully doubled the game's concurrent player count on Steam to 142,000, some players expressed dissatisfaction with the reduced Renown earnings compared to the original game. Creative director Alex Karpazis acknowledged these concerns in an interview with PC Gamer, confirming that adjustments have already been implemented.
The revised Renown system now offers:
- Increased match rewards (though not fully restored to pre-update levels)
- Additional daily and weekly challenges with Renown rewards
- A new 1,000 Renown bonus for reaching each Clearance Level
Karpazis emphasized that the changes aim to provide fair rewards across all game modes without significantly altering the overall progression pace. The development team is also evaluating XP boosters to ensure they remain valuable for players.
