Latest Call of Duty: Warzone Update Shakes Up Weapon Meta in July 2025 Patch
2025-07-09 13:03:56The gaming community is buzzing with the latest July 2025 update for Call of Duty: Warzone, which has delivered substantial changes to the battle royale's weapon balance and gameplay mechanics. This patch arrives just days after the massive Season 4 Reloaded update, continuing Activision's commitment to refining the Warzone experience.
Season 4 Reloaded launched on July 2 with an unexpected crossover event featuring Beavis & Butt-Head cosmetics. Players can earn themed rewards like the Olympia Special weapon and Pickaxe Melee weapon through multiplayer or zombies gameplay. However, the current focus has shifted to how the new weapon adjustments will impact the meta.
The most impactful changes involve weapon handling and performance. Developers have reduced visual recoil for Black Ops 6 weapons when using 2x-4x scopes, significantly improving long-range combat effectiveness. Meanwhile, strafing mechanics for Modern Warfare 2 and 3 weapons have been adjusted to enhance aiming stability.
Several assault rifles received direct buffs:
- AMES 85: Damage ranges increased (31.7m→35.5m max, 40.6m→45.7m mid) with improved headshot multiplier
- GPR 91: Better damage ranges (33m→38m max, 45.7m→49.5m mid), faster ADS (240ms→230ms)
- Kilo 141: Bullet velocity boosted from 870m/s to 905m/s
Not all changes were positive - the KRIG C saw nerfs to limb damage multipliers (1x→0.95x) and magazine capacity (70→60 rounds). The DM-10 Marksman Rifle suffered the heaviest adjustments, with reduced damage multipliers (1x→0.8x limbs), slower ADS (330ms→360ms), and decreased bullet velocity (920m/s→850m/s).
Beyond weapon tuning, the patch addressed several technical issues:
- Fixed pre-match lobby crashes
- Resolved UI problems in loadout menus
- Corrected missing spray unlock requirements
- Adjusted Havoc Royale modifiers frequency
- Disabled Portable Redeploy Drones in Ranked Play: Resurgence
