Blizzard Entertainment has temporarily reverted Diablo 4's major July 15 update on PC following widespread reports of game crashes. The development team confirmed the rollback to version 2.3.0 through official channels, though no timeline has been provided for when the problematic 2.3.1 update might return.

The controversial patch marked Diablo 4's first substantial update since the launch of Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim on July 1. Players anticipated numerous quality-of-life enhancements, class balance adjustments, and bug fixes that were promised in the update notes.

Community manager Marcoose addressed the situation through Blizzard's official forums, explaining that while PC players must temporarily continue with the previous version, console users on PlayStation and Xbox platforms can still access all the new 2.3.1 content without issues.

This unexpected setback has particularly impacted the scheduled 'Gift of the Tree' seasonal event. Adam Fletcher, Blizzard's social and content marketing director, assured players via Twitter that the event duration would be extended to compensate for the downtime caused by the technical difficulties.
