The highly anticipated August 2025 Community Day for Pokemon GO has been officially revealed, with Rookidee confirmed as the featured Pokemon. This exciting event will take place on August 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, giving trainers worldwide three hours to catch, battle, and evolve this fan-favorite creature.

Niantic's community-driven approach to selecting featured Pokemon continues with this event. Back in June 2025, players participated in voting to determine August's star Pokemon through in-game Field Research tasks. Rookidee emerged victorious from this democratic process, marking another successful implementation of Niantic's player engagement strategy.

During the event window, trainers can expect significantly increased Rookidee spawns in the wild, along with boosted shiny encounter rates. While Niantic doesn't officially disclose shiny odds, historical Community Day events suggest approximately a 1 in 25 chance (4% probability) of finding a shiny variant.

The evolution bonus offers a special incentive: Corvisquire evolved during the event or up to September 6 at 10:00 PM local time will become a Corviknight knowing the exclusive Charged Attack Air Cutter. This move delivers 45 power in Trainer Battles and 55 power in Gym/Raid battles, though competitive players may find its performance somewhat limited compared to other charged attacks.
