Shiny Treasures of Ruin Tera Raids Announced for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
2025-07-23 01:02:21During the July 2025 Pokemon Presents showcase, fans of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were treated to an exciting announcement: Shiny Tera Raids featuring the legendary Treasures of Ruin quartet. However, there's a unique catch - trainers won't be able to capture these rare Pokemon through normal means. Instead, the global community must work together to defeat each Tera Raid boss one million times before they become available as special Mystery Gifts.
The Treasures of Ruin - consisting of Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu - are powerful Dark-type Legendary Pokemon with unique secondary typings. Originally sealed away in ancient shrines across Paldea, these creatures can only be awakened by removing mystical stakes scattered throughout the region. Each member boasts the devastating Ruination move, which halves an opponent's current HP regardless of defenses. While formidable, these Pokemon received slight stat adjustments shortly after Scarlet and Violet's launch to maintain game balance.
Unlike previous Legendary Tera Raid events featuring Pokemon like Shiny Rayquaza, this challenge requires unprecedented global cooperation. The Shiny Treasures of Ruin will appear sequentially in Five-Star Tera Raids, beginning with Shiny Wo-Chien from July 22 to August 3, 2025 (Eastern Time). Subsequent members will follow in two-week intervals, giving trainers ample opportunity to contribute to the collective goal.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Shiny Treasures Of Ruin Tera Raid Schedule
- Shiny Wo-Chien: July 22 (8:00 PM ET) - August 3 (7:59 PM ET)
- Shiny Chien-Pao: August 3 (8:00 PM ET) - August 17 (7:59 PM ET)
- Shiny Ting-Lu: August 17 (8:00 PM ET) - August 31 (7:59 PM ET)
- Shiny Chi-Yu: August 31 (8:00 PM ET) - September 14 (7:59 PM ET)
Upon reaching the million-defeat milestone for each Pokemon, they'll be distributed as Mystery Gifts the following Friday. Additional rewards await dedicated trainers - for every 100,000 victories beyond the initial requirement, bonus Tera Shards will be gifted to all participants.
Strategic preparation will be key to success. Each Shiny Raid Pokemon will have its secondary type as its Tera Type (e.g., Grass-type for Wo-Chien). Trainers should assemble level 100 counters:
- Fire-types like Incineroar for Wo-Chien and Chien-Pao
- Water/Fighting-types for Ting-Lu and Chi-Yu
Remember, only online participation counts toward the global total. Alongside these legendary rewards, players can currently claim version-exclusive tracksuits for their avatars through Mystery Gift codes. The Pokemon community now faces its greatest cooperative challenge yet - will trainers rise to the occasion and unlock these magnificent Shiny Treasures of Ruin?
