The Pokemon GO Fossil Research Day will occur on Saturday, August 2, 2025, running from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this limited-time event, completing special Field Research tasks will guarantee encounters with Tyrunt and Amaura, both of which will have boosted Shiny rates. Additionally, several fossil Pokemon including Omanyte, Kabuto, Lileep, Anorith, Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, and Archen will appear more frequently in the wild with similarly increased Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO encounter rates.
