Valeria Rodriguez, the English voice behind the alchemist Sucrose, recently announced through her social media channels that she will be stepping down from her role. This change continues HoYoverse's pattern of periodic voice actor recasts throughout the game's nearly five-year history.

Since its 2020 launch, Genshin Impact has grown its playable character roster to over 100 unique personalities, each brought to life by talented voice actors across multiple languages. The upcoming Version 5.8 will introduce new character Ineffa while simultaneously marking the end of Rodriguez's tenure as the soft-spoken alchemist from Mondstadt.

Voice actor changes have become relatively common in Genshin Impact's development cycle. Previous recasts affected prominent characters including Tighnari, Kinich, and Keqing due to various circumstances ranging from industry strikes to personal controversies. Most notably, Corina Boettger's departure from voicing Paimon marked one of the game's most significant voice acting changes.
