First showcased during April's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation, Drag x Drive has captured gamers' interest with its groundbreaking wheelchair basketball concept and innovative control scheme utilizing the Switch 2's enhanced Joy-Con functionality.

Scheduled for full release on August 14, this Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive will offer three trial windows on August 9-10 for subscribers to test the unique sports title. Drag x Drive joins other anticipated Switch 2 exclusives like Donkey Kong Bananza in Nintendo's summer lineup. The game features 3v3 wheelchair basketball matches where players control each wheel independently using either motion controls or the new precision mouse mode for the updated Joy-Cons.

The Drag x Drive: Global Jam event will provide access during three four-hour sessions:

• August 9: 3 AM - 7 AM PT
• August 9: 5 PM - 9 PM PT
• August 10: 9 AM - 1 PM PT

At just $19.99, Drag x Drive stands as one of the most affordable Switch 2 titles, making it an attractive option for early adopters of Nintendo's new console.

With a remarkably small 1.8 GB file size (source), the game won't strain the Switch 2's expanded storage capacity. This accessibility, combined with its novel gameplay mechanics, positions Drag x Drive as a potential breakout hit similar to Rocket League's success.

However, some players may be disappointed by the current lack of local multiplayer support. While supporting 12-player online matches, the game only permits single-console play regardless of connected controllers. Nintendo hasn't yet indicated whether local multiplayer might be added post-launch.
