The highly anticipated action RPG Wuthering Waves has officially announced the playable debut of two new characters - Augusta and Iuno - coming in Version 2.6. This revelation follows earlier teasers in May that hinted at multiple new characters joining the roster during the 2.0 update cycle.

Version 2.5, which recently launched, introduced Phrolova as the main attraction alongside returning fan-favorite events like Dreaming Deep. The update also unveiled Overture quests, a new story mission format that provides backstory for future content. Players got their first proper introduction to Augusta through these quests, setting the stage for her upcoming playable version.

Through official social media channels, Kuro Games confirmed that Augusta will be a 5-Star Electro character wielding a Broadblade, while Iuno joins as a 5-Star Aero fighter specializing in Gauntlets. Based on the release pattern, Augusta will likely appear in the first half of Version 2.6, with Iuno following in the second phase.

Both characters were initially revealed back in May alongside Phrolova and three other upcoming fighters. Augusta has been portrayed as Septimont's undefeated gladiator and prominent leader during the Grand Agon storyline, while Iuno serves as her trusted advisor and priestess.

However, some community concerns have emerged regarding character balance and team composition diversity. Players have noted certain characters' over-reliance on specific partners, like Phrolova's dependence on Cantarella. Additionally, the lack of new 4-Star characters since December 2024 has drawn criticism, and Version 2.6 isn't expected to introduce any either.

Kuro Games has historically been responsive to player feedback, so fans remain hopeful that future updates will address these gameplay concerns. In the meantime, players can continue pulling for Phrolova and Roccia in the current banners or wait for Brant and Cantarella's rerun in Phase 2.
