With the highly anticipated global reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 just around the corner, Activision has stealthily introduced several exclusive cosmetic items into Call of Duty: Warzone. Among these surprises is a brand-new weapon blueprint for the XM4 Assault Rifle. While there are no official in-game challenges to obtain these items, dedicated players have already cracked the code to complete the hidden Black Ops 7 easter egg and claim all the rewards.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

The first glimpse of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 came during Xbox's June showcase, featuring a mind-bending trailer that revealed key details about the game's setting, characters, and plot while leaving many questions unanswered. The trailer confirmed the return of Black Ops 2 protagonist David Mason alongside the notorious villain Raul Menendez. Set in 2035, the game will serve as a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, aligning with previous leaks and rumors. While gameplay footage remains under wraps, the official worldwide reveal is imminent.

In preparation for the Black Ops 7 global reveal on August 19, Activision has hidden several cosmetic items in Warzone, including the new XM4 Assault Rifle blueprint. Without any in-game instructions, finding these items presents a unique challenge. Recently, players have discovered rare chests scattered across Verdansk, each emitting a distinctive red glow. To claim the rewards, players must open these chests and then pass through the red butterfly patches that appear. Collecting 5 butterflies unlocks a special emote, while gathering 30 grants the coveted Prismatic Tracer weapon blueprint for the XM4.

These mysterious chests were introduced alongside a teaser for Black Ops 7's antagonist, Raul Menendez. Inside the TV Station point of interest, players can find a brief video of Menendez addressing his return. Watching this video while standing in the TV Station unlocks a free Black Ops 7 calling card. While these are currently the only available cosmetics tied to the Black Ops 7 teasers, with the global reveal approaching, more surprises are likely on the horizon.

Although Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's release date remains unconfirmed, industry rumors suggest a November 14 launch. An official announcement is expected during Gamescom Opening Night Live next week. Activision has already confirmed the game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Notably absent is any mention of a Nintendo Switch 2 version, despite Microsoft's previous 10-year agreement with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty titles to their platforms.
