Pokemon GO has unveiled its highly anticipated September 2025 content schedule, featuring the exciting debut of Mega Sharpedo in limited-time raids. The month promises an array of thrilling activities including the return of beloved Kanto region Pokemon, special themed events, and a rotating selection of Mega Evolutions that will keep trainers engaged throughout September.

The September 2025 roadmap continues Pokemon GO's tradition of monthly content updates that include raid battles, trainer bonuses, and Spotlight Hours. This comprehensive schedule ensures that players will have numerous opportunities to enhance their collections and experience new challenges throughout the coming month.

One of the most anticipated features of September's offerings is the debut of Mega Sharpedo, scheduled for September 7. This powerful Water/Dark-type Pokemon will make its appearance during a special Pokemon GO Raid Day event, running from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. Unlike some previous raid events where shiny variants were introduced separately, Mega Sharpedo will have an immediate chance to appear as a shiny version. However, trainers should note that while the shiny chance is boosted according to standard Raid Day rules, all regular Sharpedo raid variants will remain non-shiny. Players will need to complete raids to discover if they've encountered the rare shiny Mega Sharpedo.

Beyond the Mega Sharpedo debut, Pokemon GO's Mega Raid schedule for September includes several fan-favorite Kanto Pokemon. The month begins on September 2 with Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Blastoise raids, which will remain available until September 9. These will be replaced by Mega Pidgeot and Mega Gyarados raids starting September 9. Another rotation occurs on September 16, featuring Mega Gardevoir, Mega Latias, Mega Latios, and Mega Gallade for a week-long availability. The final full week of September, from the 23rd to the 30th, will showcase Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Lopunny, followed by Mega Steelix, Mega Scizor, and Mega Lucario raids. All September Mega raids will include the possibility of encountering shiny variants.

September 2 also marks the beginning of Pokemon GO Season 20, launching with a special Kanto Celebration event. This event will feature wild encounters with regional Pokemon, legacy move evolutions, and Dynamax versions of the legendary bird trio—Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres—available through paid Special Research. Players can also participate in collection challenges that reward Mega Energy upon completion. The Kanto Celebration event runs until September 7, concluding just as the Mega Sharpedo Raid Day begins.

The September 2025 Spotlight Hours will feature Pidgey on September 2, Trubbish on September 9, Gothita on September 16, Hoothoot on September 23, and Aron on September 30. These weekly events will take place every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time, offering trainers increased spawn rates and special bonuses for each featured Pokemon.
