Sony Unveils Ghost of Yotei Limited Edition PS5 Hardware Collection
2025-08-28 01:24:57Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially revealed that pre-orders for the highly anticipated Ghost of Yotei limited edition PS5 hardware collection will commence on September 4. This exclusive lineup, designed to celebrate the launch of the upcoming action-adventure title, includes two distinct PS5 Slim console variants, two specially designed DualSense controller options, and custom console covers compatible with both PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro models. All items are scheduled to release simultaneously with the game on October 2.
Nearly five years into the current PlayStation generation, Sony continues to expand its portfolio of themed hardware offerings. The company has previously released commemorative PS5 bundles for major milestones, including the launch of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and their 30th anniversary celebration. The announcement in July confirmed that Ghost of Yotei would receive similar special treatment with its own dedicated hardware collection and additional merchandise.
PlayStation has updated its official announcement to confirm that pre-orders for the time-limited Ghost of Yotei collection will begin on September 4 at 10:00 AM local time. The themed PS5 Slim bundles will be priced at $599.99, while the DualSense controllers will retail for $84.99. The custom console covers will be available for $64.99. The white-and-gold edition of the Ghost of Yotei hardware will be accessible through direct.playstation.com and participating retailers, while the white-and-black variant will be exclusively available in regions supported by the official PlayStation Direct website.
While PlayStation enthusiasts have had opportunities to purchase various custom console covers and controllers in the past, the Ghost of Yotei PS5 bundle marks only the second time this generation that Sony has released a complete themed console bundle. The first instance occurred in 2023 with the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 bundle, which launched in September ahead of the game's October release. Given the extended gap between special edition console releases, many players are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to acquire another collector's edition PS5.
Meanwhile, Ghost of Yotei, Sony's next major first-party exclusive, is positioned as the centerpiece of the PlayStation booth at Tokyo Game Show 2025. Scheduled for September 25-28, the event is expected to provide final previews and additional insights into the Ghost of Tsushima sequel before its eagerly awaited launch in October.
