Genshin Impact Version 6.0 Introduces New Constellation Acquisition System
2025-09-09 01:35:44With the arrival of Version 6.0, Genshin Impact enthusiasts will gain access to an innovative feature that enables them to acquire Constellations for specific 5-star characters. HoYoverse has officially unveiled the complete mechanics of this groundbreaking system. While Genshin Impact typically caters to casual gaming experiences, its endgame content presents significant challenges that demand either exceptional skill or substantial character investment.
Character development in Genshin Impact manifests through two primary approaches: horizontal investment, exemplified by synergistic 5-star pairings like Escoffier and Skirk, Mavuika and Citlali, or Flins and Ineffa; and vertical investment, which primarily involves obtaining Constellations. As endgame challenges grow increasingly demanding, Constellations become essential for many 5-star characters to remain competitive within the meta. Characters such as Yae Miko and Shenhe experience significant power spikes even with just their first Constellation unlocked, making this new feature particularly valuable for enhancing roster strength.

Version 6.0 introduces a permanent event system that enables players to earn up to four Constellations annually. This system encompasses both Standard and Limited characters, with certain restrictions. With the exception of Alhaitham, Yelan, and Kazuha, only non-Archon characters released before Version 4.0 qualify for this feature. HoYoverse has indicated that future event cycles will expand the roster of available characters, likely aligning with the introduction of new Chronicled Banners.
The inaugural cycle of 'To Temper Thyself and Journey Far' commences with Version 6.0's launch and continues through December 1, 2025. These cycles typically span approximately twelve weeks, resetting each Monday. To obtain a Constellation, players must fulfill their weekly training objectives for eight out of the twelve weeks. Completing a weekly goal requires spending 120 Original Resin in addition to finishing Daily Commissions for at least five days within the week.
This system also provides access to Masterless Stella Fortuna for Standard Banner characters, offering an additional long-term method for character advancement toward the increased level cap. While newer 5-star characters often excel in current content, 'To Temper Thyself and Journey Far' allows players to enhance classic characters like Hu Tao, Ayaka, and Nilou—the latter experiencing renewed popularity due to the introduction of Lauma. Version 6.0 is scheduled for release on September 10.
