The gaming world is abuzz with excitement as Forza Horizon 6 has been officially announced during the Tokyo Game Show 2025. While specific details about the project remain limited, the announcement has validated numerous recent rumors surrounding the next installment in the popular racing series.

Forza Horizon 6

One of the most significant confirmations relates to Forza Horizon 6's Japanese setting, which initially surfaced online in August 2025. The leak originated when Australian car importer Cult and Classics accidentally revealed that Playground Games was scanning Kei cars for their upcoming project. Given that these compact vehicles originated in Japan, automotive enthusiasts quickly deduced that the sequel to Forza Horizon 5 would be set in the Far Eastern country.

The speculation has now been officially confirmed through the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 Broadcast. The September 25th event featured a brief CGI teaser that clearly established the game's Japanese setting. The trailer began by showcasing a garage filled with distinctive Japanese imagery before transitioning to a breathtaking landscape shot featuring Mount Fuji. Although no actual gameplay was demonstrated, Microsoft did announce the official release window for Forza Horizon 6, confirming a planned launch in 2026.

Forza Horizon 6 will initially launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms. Microsoft has also confirmed that a PlayStation 5 version is currently in development. Rumors about the series coming to Sony's current-generation console began circulating after Forza Horizon 5 achieved remarkable success on the PS5, selling an impressive 2 million copies within months of its late April 2025 release.
