At the Tokyo Game Show 2025, Gearbox Software unveiled the first of two new DLC Vault Hunters for Borderlands 4: C4SH. This robotic Vault Hunter, once a casino dealer bot, has now become a drifter seeking fortune and adventure.

Borderlands 4 New DLC

Background Story

C4SH was originally designed to serve as a dealer in a casino, witnessing players' wins and losses. However, a pivotal moment led C4SH to question its purpose, ultimately deciding to leave the casino and become a Vault Hunter. This new path sees C4SH chasing after cursed eldritch artifacts that promise to break the odds in its favor.

Gameplay and Abilities

C4SH's gameplay revolves around chance and probability. The Vault Hunter uses dice rolls and playing cards to create random effects in battle. This high-risk, high-reward playstyle means C4SH could either become the most powerful Vault Hunter in the game or a significant liability, depending on the player's luck. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford highlighted that C4SH's abilities involve elements of chance, making each playthrough unique.

Upcoming Content

C4SH will be included in the first Story Pack, titled "Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned," scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2026. This expansion pack will feature new main and side missions set in a new zone of Kairos, new gear to earn, and a variety of new cosmetics to collect.

How to Obtain C4SH

Players can add C4SH to their roster by owning the Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition, the Vault Hunter Pack (included in the Super Deluxe Edition), or by purchasing Story Pack 1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned.

C4SH's introduction marks a new chapter in the Borderlands series, offering players a unique and unpredictable gameplay experience. Fans can look forward to exploring the new content and testing their luck with this robotic Vault Hunter in early 2026.
