Keeper Joins Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: A Surreal Adventure Experience
2025-10-17 23:50:31Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has welcomed Keeper to its growing library of games. This visually striking adventure title becomes the 56th new addition to the subscription service in October 2025, as well as the 178th release for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate since the beginning of the year.
Developed by Double Fine Productions, the creative minds behind Psychonauts and a Microsoft subsidiary, Keeper made its official debut during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025. The game presents itself as a third-person adventure set in a post-apocalyptic world, telling a heartwarming story of companionship without relying on dialogue. Players follow the journey of an unlikely pair: a pelican-like bird and a long-dormant lighthouse that mysteriously awakens and develops the ability to walk.
Starting October 17, players can immerse themselves in Keeper's surreal world and explore its unique biological concepts. The game is now accessible on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and through Xbox Game Pass. Following the pattern of other day-one releases, Double Fine's latest creation is exclusively available on the PC and Ultimate tiers of Microsoft's subscription service. Additionally, Keeper can be streamed via Xbox Cloud Gaming in regions where the cloud platform operates.
Microsoft implemented a restructuring of Xbox Game Pass tiers on October 1, replacing Core and Standard with Essential and Premium respectively, among other adjustments. While the Premium membership doesn't include day-one game releases, Microsoft has committed to adding Xbox-published titles to this tier within one year of their initial launch. This commitment suggests that Keeper will become available on Xbox Game Pass Premium no later than October 2026, and potentially as early as mid-2026 based on previous release patterns.
Five additional titles have been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass before the conclusion of October 2025. Ninja Gaiden 4 and Evil West are scheduled for release on October 21, followed by PowerWash Simulator 2 and Bounty Star two days later on October 23. The Outer Worlds 2 is then set to debut on October 29. The second wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for this month is expected to receive an official announcement around October 21.
Xbox Game Pass already has six confirmed releases scheduled for November 2025. Next month's lineup includes Football Manager 26, 1000xResist, Voidtrain, Winter Burrow, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault.
