Battlefield 6 XP Bot Farm Servers Nerfed
2025-10-22 15:09:56Electronic Arts (EA) and Battlefield Studios have implemented an update to Battlefield 6 that significantly reduces the effectiveness of XP bot farming in Portal lobbies. This move comes after the developer acknowledged that a large number of Portal servers were being used primarily for XP farming, which was making it difficult for players to find genuine Battlefield 6 experiences.
Changes to XP Farming
The update has removed Mastery XP and challenge completions from Portal lobbies that have bots enabled. Players can still earn career XP and receive a 150% match completion bonus in these lobbies, but the changes mean that weapon attachments and other unlocks will now have to be earned through regular gameplay. This should effectively end the practice of using bot-filled lobbies to quickly level up weapons and complete challenges.
Community Reaction
The reaction to the update has been mixed. Many players have praised the move, calling it "excellent news" and stating that it is "as it should be". However, some players are unhappy with the change, citing the difficulty and length of time it takes to complete weapon challenges and unlock attachments. EA has acknowledged these concerns and has promised updates to progression speeds.
Future Updates
Battlefield Studios has already made adjustments to increase the amount of XP earned from match completion and daily challenges. The developer has also reduced the amount of Mastery XP needed to unlock a weapon's first 20 Mastery ranks. More progression changes are expected in the future as the developer continues to refine the game.
