Electronic Arts (EA) and Battlefield Studios have implemented an update to Battlefield 6 that significantly reduces the effectiveness of XP bot farming in Portal lobbies. This move comes after the developer acknowledged that a large number of Portal servers were being used primarily for XP farming, which was making it difficult for players to find genuine Battlefield 6 experiences.

Changes to XP Farming

The update has removed Mastery XP and challenge completions from Portal lobbies that have bots enabled. Players can still earn career XP and receive a 150% match completion bonus in these lobbies, but the changes mean that weapon attachments and other unlocks will now have to be earned through regular gameplay. This should effectively end the practice of using bot-filled lobbies to quickly level up weapons and complete challenges.
