Overwatch 2 Unveils Vendetta's Gameplay and Abilities
2025-11-21 11:35:59Overwatch 2 has released a gameplay trailer for Vendetta, the new melee DPS hero set to join the game in Season 20. Vendetta brings a dynamic and aggressive playstyle to the damage role, featuring a combination of close-range attacks and mobility-enhancing abilities.

Vendetta's primary weapon is the Palatine Fang, a hard-light greatsword that delivers powerful combo swings, culminating in a devastating overhead slash. Her alternative fire, Warding Stance, allows her to block frontal damage and deflect melee attacks, consuming energy in the process. While in Warding Stance, she can also launch a Projected Edge projectile, consuming energy to fire a wide-range blade beam.
Her abilities include Soaring Slice, which allows her to hurl her sword and then fly to its location, providing excellent mobility and positioning options. Whirlwind Dash sends her forward in a circular slash, dealing area-of-effect damage. Her passive ability, Onslaught, increases her movement and attack speed when striking enemies.
Vendetta's Ultimate ability, Sundering Blade, pierces through most defenses, dealing heavy damage in a narrow line. This ability is reminiscent of Reinhardt's Earthshatter, but with a more focused and powerful impact.
In addition to her core abilities, Vendetta comes with a set of Perks that enhance her gameplay. Minor Perks include Siphoning Strike, which grants 30% lifesteal on her overhead strike, and Relentless, which allows Onslaught to stack more times, further increasing her attack and movement speed. Major Perks include Swift Vengeance, which marks the last player to kill her as a target, granting overhealth and resetting cooldowns upon elimination, and Raging Storm, which allows Whirlwind Dash to hit three more times in a wide area.
Vendetta's playstyle combines elements of both Doomfist and Reinhardt, offering high mobility and powerful melee attacks. Her abilities and Perks make her a versatile and formidable addition to the Overwatch 2 roster.
Fans can get a sneak peek at Vendetta during the Hero Trial, which runs from November 26 to December 1. The trial is extended to accommodate the Thanksgiving holiday, giving players ample time to experience her unique abilities and see how she will impact the game. Vendetta will officially arrive in Overwatch 2 on December 9 as part of Season 20.
