While the highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is yet to be released, rumors are already circulating about a potential sequel.  A leak suggests that development on Metroid Prime 5 is already underway, potentially targeting a 2027 launch on the Nintendo Switch 2.

This rumor originates from leaker Nash Weedle, who previously accurately predicted the surprise release of Metroid Dread in 2021.  Weedle claims that Metroid Prime 5 is in development and slated for a 2027 release. While this timeframe might seem ambitious, especially given the protracted development of Metroid Prime 4, it's not unprecedented for studios to work on multiple installments of a franchise concurrently.
