Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.25: Berserker Helmet Issue for Viera and Hrothgar

One of the most anticipated additions in Final Fantasy 14's upcoming Patch 7.25 is the Berserker helmet, but it won’t be visible on Viera or Hrothgar characters. This revelation comes from screenshots released by Square Enix, which were quickly analyzed by the game’s dedicated fanbase on social media. Many players expressed their disappointment, criticizing the developer for yet another headgear limitation for these races.

Patch 7.25 is set to launch on Tuesday, May 27, following a brief maintenance period. The update will bring the Mamool Ja allied society quests for Gatherers, the next installment of the beloved Hildibrand questline, and the highly anticipated Occult Crescent field operation. Accessible after reaching level 100 and completing Dawntrail's main story, the Occult Crescent will take players to the South Horn of a mysterious island. Here, they can level up new Phantom Jobs, upgrade relic weapons, and uncover secrets about Final Fantasy 14's lost civilizations that participated in the War of the Magi.

While Patch 7.25 offers numerous rewards from the Occult Crescent, the Berserker helmet has already become a point of contention. After Square Enix shared new screenshots of the update, Reddit user SunChaoJun highlighted that the helmet appears invisible on Hrothgar characters but remains visible on other races like Lalafell.

Although all Final Fantasy 14 characters can equip headgear for stat benefits, Viera and Hrothgar have long struggled with visual limitations due to their unique character models. This issue persists despite previous fixes, such as the Cosmosuit Helm from Patch 7.21's Cosmic Exploration, which accommodated Viera ears and Hrothgar facial features.

The Berserker helmet isn't the only feature drawing criticism. Following the announcement of Final Fantasy 14 Mobile's exclusive features, including 16 dye channels, players voiced frustration over the lack of similar quality-of-life updates in the PC and console versions.

With ongoing headgear limitations for Viera and Hrothgar, as well as the return of automatic housing demolitions, Final Fantasy 14 players have been vocal about their concerns. It remains uncertain how Square Enix will address these issues in future updates.
