FBC: Firebreak – Remedy's First Multiplayer Adventure Bridges Control and Its Sequel
2025-06-04 16:56:16Remedy Entertainment has officially unveiled the PC system requirements for FBC: Firebreak, their upcoming cooperative multiplayer spin-off set in the Control universe. Departing from their signature narrative-driven titles like Alan Wake 2, this marks Remedy's ambitious leap into multiplayer gaming.
Originally announced as Project Condor in 2021, FBC: Firebreak was formally introduced in October 2024 with gameplay footage. The game unfolds in the enigmatic Oldest House, where players team up to combat the Hiss, linking Control to its highly anticipated sequel.
With FBC: Firebreak's June 17 release approaching, Remedy has detailed four performance tiers:
Minimum (1080p/60 FPS): GTX 1070/RX 5600 XT, i5-7600K/Ryzen 5 1600X, 16GB RAM.
Recommended (1440p/60 FPS): RTX 3060/RX 6600 XT, i5-8500/Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB RAM.
High (4K/60 FPS): RTX 3070/RX 6800 XT, i5-8500/Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB RAM.
High Ray Tracing (4K/60 FPS): RTX 4080/RX 7900 XT, i7-8700K/Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM.
All configurations require a 30GB SSD and Windows 10/11 64-bit. Broadband internet is mandatory for online play.
Game director Kyle Rowley disclosed that Overcooked influenced FBC: Firebreak's design. Post-beta feedback has driven improvements, including enhanced starting weapons, refined combat pacing, and diversified enemy encounters.
The game's "Jobs" system leans into rogue-lite elements rather than traditional live-service models, offering fresh dynamics for cooperative play.
