Blizzard has just unveiled Junkrat's Loot Box Hunt, a special weekend event in Overwatch 2 where players can collect up to nine Loot Boxes. By completing daily milestones on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, fans can earn three Loot Boxes each day just by participating in matches.

Loot Boxes made their comeback in Overwatch 2 during Season 15. Since then, Blizzard has distributed numerous free Loot Boxes, including rewards from Twitch Drops during the mid-Season 16 update.

This weekend event, running from June 6 to June 8, offers players another opportunity to earn multiple Loot Boxes. While the exact milestones remain unspecified, they will likely involve completing matches. Players must claim their daily rewards each day, as unclaimed Loot Boxes will not carry over.

Additionally, these rewards are separate from the standard weekly Loot Boxes, allowing players to accumulate even more free items during the event.

Junkrat's Loot Box Hunt serves as a fun filler event before Overwatch 2's Competitive Drives in late Season 16. While its return is unconfirmed, similar events could reappear before major updates or holidays.

Season 17, launching on June 24, will introduce significant changes, including:

• A new Battle Pass with Mythic skins for D.Va and Reaper.
• A new Flashpoint map, Aatlis, alongside reworks of existing maps.
• Map Voting in Competitive Play and the return of Summer Games.
• Stadium updates featuring new heroes (Sigma, Junkrat, Zenyatta) and maps (Esperanca, Samoa).

All unopened Loot Boxes from Season 16 will be automatically opened before the Season 17 update, so players should use their rewards from Junkrat’s Loot Box Hunt before then.
