Techland, the developer behind the popular Dying Light series, has once again confirmed its plans to offer the upcoming title Dying Light: The Beast as a complimentary gift to owners of Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition. The highly anticipated game, set to launch on August 22, 2025, will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Originally conceived as a DLC for Dying Light 2, The Beast evolved into a standalone title following an unexpected leak. The game marks the return of Kyle Crane, the beloved protagonist from the first Dying Light. Despite its transformation into what Techland now considers Dying Light 3, the studio remains committed to honoring its promise to Ultimate Edition owners, ensuring they receive the game at no extra cost.

Following the game's official reveal at Gamescom 2024, Techland promptly removed the Dying Light 2: Ultimate Edition from sale, as it includes access to The Beast. In a recent Reddit post, the studio clarified that all Ultimate Edition owners will automatically find The Beast in their game libraries upon its release.

Additionally, Techland has addressed concerns regarding pre-order bonuses. Players who receive The Beast for free will also gain access to the Hero of Harran bundle, which includes exclusive weapons, a patrol vehicle, and a unique outfit for Kyle Crane. These bonuses will be available immediately upon the game's launch.

While The Beast is being positioned as the next major installment in the franchise, Dying Light 2 will continue to receive support throughout 2025. The studio has outlined a roadmap featuring seasonal events, including Summer, Halloween, and Winter Tales, along with a major update scheduled for the Fall.

Dying Light: The Beast promises to deliver the same intense action and horror that fans have come to expect, with the return of Kyle Crane adding a nostalgic touch. The game is rated M for Mature, featuring blood and gore, intense violence, strong language, and drug references.
