Fallout Shelter Reaches 230 Million Downloads on Its 10th Anniversary
2025-06-15 02:06:24Bethesda has unveiled impressive statistics for Fallout Shelter as the game celebrates its tenth anniversary, with over 230 million downloads globally. This mobile spin-off of the iconic post-apocalyptic RPG series has become a cornerstone of Bethesda's portfolio, standing alongside legendary franchises like The Elder Scrolls. Over the years, Fallout has expanded into various media, including a hit Amazon Prime series and even a themed cookbook. Now, Fallout Shelter marks its decade-long success with staggering numbers.
Launched in 2015, Fallout Shelter introduced players to life inside the franchise's famous Vaults, allowing them to build and manage their own underground sanctuary as Overseer. The game has since been ported to multiple platforms, including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. As it enters its tenth year, Fallout Shelter continues to captivate fans with its unique blend of strategy and simulation.
According to Eurogamer, Bethesda shared these remarkable figures as part of the anniversary celebrations. The studio also announced special in-game rewards, including Lunchboxes, Pet Carriers, and Nuka currency, available from June 16 to June 21.
Over its ten-year lifespan, Fallout Shelter has introduced numerous updates and crossover content. Following the release of Fallout 4, the game added characters like Preston Garvey and Dogmeat. More recently, it incorporated characters from the Fallout TV series, such as Overseers Betty and Hank, allowing fans to bring these personalities into their Vaults.
As Fallout Shelter celebrates this milestone, fans eagerly await news about the next installment in the Fallout series. While Fallout 5 remains unconfirmed, Todd Howard hinted in 2022 that it won't arrive until after The Elder Scrolls VI. Meanwhile, the Fallout TV series has been renewed for a third season, with Season 2 premiering in December.
