Schedule 1: Australian Relisting Progress and Development Updates
2025-06-20 18:48:12Independent developer TVGS has shared promising news regarding Schedule 1's availability in Australia, with expectations that the popular simulation game could return to Steam by late July. The title, which became one of Steam's top-played games earlier this year, unexpectedly disappeared from the Australian storefront last month, leaving many fans disappointed.
Following its explosive early access launch in March, where it peaked at nearly 460,000 concurrent players, Schedule 1 established itself as one of 2025's most successful indie releases. However, its Australian disappearance on May 12 sparked confusion among players. Contrary to speculation about a ban due to its mature themes, developer TVGS clarified that the removal was simply due to pending age classification requirements with the Australian Classification Board.
In a recent developer livestream, Tyler (the solo creator behind Schedule 1) explained that the classification process is taking longer than usual due to the game's drug-related content. The developer remains confident about securing an 18+ rating, with the application expected to be submitted shortly. The review process typically takes up to 25 business days, potentially leading to a late July relisting.
While awaiting Australian reapproval, TVGS has faced additional challenges. Movie Games S.A., publisher of Drug Deal Simulator, previously investigated Schedule 1 for alleged copyright infringement regarding gameplay mechanics and interface elements. Though no formal action resulted, the accusations led to review bombing of Drug Deal Simulator by Schedule 1's passionate fanbase.
Development continues unabated, with Tyler recently concluding a community vote for the next major update. Among three options - Rival Cartel, Shrooms, or Police Expansion - players overwhelmingly chose the Rival Cartel update with 64% of over 440,000 votes. This content is currently targeting a late July release alongside the potential Australian return.
