The dark fantasy action-RPG Lies of P has reached an impressive commercial milestone, surpassing three million copies sold worldwide. This achievement comes nearly two years after the game's initial release in September 2023 across PC and consoles, and coincides with the surprise launch of its Overture DLC expansion on June 6, 2025.

Developed by South Korean studio Neowiz, Lies of P offers a grim reimagining of the classic Pinocchio tale through the lens of challenging Soulslike gameplay. Despite being available through Xbox Game Pass at launch, the title demonstrated remarkable sales performance, moving one million units within its first month.

The recent sales surge appears directly tied to the DLC's release, which has reinvigorated interest in the game. On Steam alone, Overture helped Lies of P achieve a new peak concurrent player count of 30,095. Additional factors like significant discounts on the base game (including a 50% price reduction on Steam) have further contributed to this commercial success.

While the three million sales figure is impressive, it's worth noting that the actual player count is substantially higher. As of March 2024, before the DLC's release, the game had already attracted over seven million players through various platforms and Game Pass access.

With the Overture expansion receiving positive reception and maintaining player engagement, Neowiz has confirmed development is underway for a sequel. Financial reports indicate the follow-up is targeting a release during fiscal year 2026 (April 2026 - March 2027).
