The highly anticipated Version 3.4 update for Honkai: Star Rail is set to launch on July 2, bringing a wealth of new content to the game. This update features a special collaboration with Fate/Stay Night, introducing new characters and an immersive storyline. Players can look forward to the debut of Phainon, a fan-favorite character, along with other exciting additions.

Following the dramatic events of the Chrysos Heirs' sacrifice in the Flame-Chase Journey, Phainon emerges as the key figure to deliver the final Coreflame. The 3.3 main story left players on a cliffhanger with Cyrene's first appearance, and now, the fate of Amphoreus and the Trailblazer remains uncertain. To build anticipation, HoYoverse hosted a special livestream, revealing exclusive redeem codes and showcasing the upcoming content.

Version 3.4, titled For the Sun is Set to Die, introduces Phainon as a 5-Star Physical Destruction unit, expected to become one of the game's top DPS characters. The first phase of the update will feature a triple banner with reruns of Tribbie, Sunday, and Sparkle. The second phase focuses on Destruction characters, including Firefly, Jingliu, and Blade.

The Fate/Stay Night UBW crossover begins on July 11, offering limited banners for Saber and Archer. Players can obtain Archer for free by logging in during the event period. Additionally, a new skin for Firefly, Spring Missive, will be available for purchase, giving her a school uniform-inspired look.

Other notable features in Version 3.4 include a long-awaited skip dialogue option for quests and a new co-op mode with Origami Birds. The Fate/Stay Night event will also introduce a Holy Grail War storyline set in Penacony, featuring Saber, Archer, and Lancer alongside the Trailblazer and other characters.

Version 3.4 also brings buffs to Kafka, Silver Wolf, Jingliu, and Blade, enhancing their abilities. Players can choose to use these buffs or stick with the original versions. HoYoverse has confirmed that Kafka and Silver Wolf will return in Version 3.5, alongside new characters Hysilens and Cerydra.
