Pokemon GO Expands Storage Limits for Players
2025-06-26 07:15:31Pokemon GO has recently updated its storage system, allowing trainers to hold more Pokemon and items than ever before. With the continuous addition of new creatures and valuable in-game resources, this expansion provides much-needed space for dedicated players.
The timing coincides with the upcoming global GO Fest event in late June, where trainers will have numerous opportunities to catch rare and Shiny Pokemon. The increased storage capacity ensures players won't miss out on these special catches due to lack of space.
Niantic has announced significant increases to both storage types:
- Pokemon storage now maxes out at 10,500
- Item capacity reaches up to 9,500
This represents a 700-slot increase for each category, though upgrades still require PokeCoin purchases.
The community response has been mixed. While some trainers welcome the additional space, others express concerns about the continuing costs:
Concern | Percentage of Players |
---|---|
Upgrade costs too high | 42% |
Already released Pokemon due to lack of space | 28% |
Prefer free storage increases | 65% |
Casual players may not feel the immediate need for expansion, but dedicated collectors - like the couple who caught 600,000 Pokemon and married at GO Fest 2025 - will likely appreciate every additional slot.
