Microsoft has started deploying the Xbox June 2025 update across Xbox One, Series X/S, PC, and the Xbox mobile app. This latest Xbox update brings enhanced UI customization, expanded cloud gaming capabilities, easier access to in-game perks, and a unified PC game library.

In recent years, Microsoft has been broadening the Xbox ecosystem beyond traditional consoles. Initiatives like Game Pass, Play Anywhere, and Cloud Gaming have been pivotal in creating a seamless Xbox experience across Series X/S, PC, and mobile devices, with simultaneous monthly updates. Additionally, Microsoft has begun porting Xbox games to competing platforms such as PS5 and Nintendo Switch, signaling a future where Xbox transcends platform boundaries.

Following the April 2025 update, which introduced the ability to Stream Your Own Game library on Xbox consoles, the June update is more extensive. Key features include the beta launch of Copilot for Gaming on mobile (coming to ROG Xbox Ally this holiday), an AI assistant providing tips and walkthroughs. PC users in the Xbox Insider program now enjoy an aggregated game library, combining titles from Xbox, Game Pass, Battle.net, and other major storefronts—possibly including Steam and Epic Games Store.

The Game Pass tab in the Xbox PC app now includes publisher channels, making it easier to explore games from favorite developers. Console users benefit from new customization options for the "Most Recently Used" section on the Xbox dashboard, allowing them to pin preferred games or hide system apps. Game Hubs are now available on consoles, offering detailed insights into selected titles, including stats, achievements, and add-ons. Cloud saves have been enhanced with sync progress indicators and clearer error messages, while free-to-play games now highlight Game Pass Ultimate subscriber benefits, such as skins, currency, and unlockable characters.

Microsoft is also stepping up its game preservation efforts, adding five more titles to the Xbox Retro Classics collection with the June 2025 update: Cosmic Commuter, Heart of China, Skiing, Solar Storm, and Subterranea. These additions follow rumors that Xbox is developing a major emulation platform for classic games, potentially enabling older titles to run on modern hardware with graphical improvements and bug fixes. However, these reports remain unconfirmed.
