How to Disable Xbox's Game Hubs Feature and Recent Updates
2025-06-24 03:05:59Some Xbox gamers have expressed frustration with the newly introduced Game Hubs feature, which adds an extra step before launching games. While Microsoft designed this feature to provide quick access to game information, achievements, and friend activity, many players prefer the direct approach to gaming.
The Xbox Series X/S, launched in November 2020, has seen numerous updates from Microsoft. Although official sales figures haven't been released recently, industry estimates suggest these consoles have reached approximately 30 million units sold by late 2024.
The Game Hubs feature was introduced in a recent Xbox Series X/S system update. Instead of launching games directly, players now see a hub displaying game details, achievements, and available add-ons. While some appreciate this information, others find it an unnecessary interruption to their gaming sessions.
To disable Game Hubs:
- Navigate to 'My Games and Apps' from the Xbox home screen
- Select 'Apps', then 'Settings'
- Choose 'General' followed by 'Personalization'
- Go to 'Games and Apps'
- Scroll right and uncheck all three options under 'Choose whether game hubs open automatically'
