Diablo 4 Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim Arrives with Exciting New Features
2025-06-26 10:14:25Blizzard has officially unveiled the key features coming to Diablo 4 in Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim, set to launch on July 1. This marks the third phase of the game's 2025 roadmap, originally revealed in April, giving players a glimpse into what's next for the acclaimed action RPG.
The current Season 8, which began on April 29, brought notable additions including a special Berserk crossover event and the return of fan-favorite boss Belial. Now, anticipation builds as Diablo 4 prepares to introduce its next seasonal chapter packed with fresh content and gameplay enhancements.
Season 9's headline feature is the Horadric Spellcraft system, introducing powerful new abilities like Corrosive Vapor and Thunderous Particle. Players will embark on a new questline to purge relics tainted by Astaroth's blood, while Horadric Jewels offer innovative socketable bonuses. As previously leaked, the hellhound Dante joins as the seasonal pet, with additional rewards available through the Reliquary system.
The update brings significant changes to Nightmare Dungeons, including:
- New Nightmare Dungeon Affixes
- Horadric Strongrooms
- Escalating Nightmares (a challenging new endgame activity)
Exalted Astaroth serves as both a seasonal quest boss and an even more formidable version in Escalating Nightmares, with potential affix modifications to increase the challenge.
Additional permanent updates include six new Unique items for build diversity and long-requested keyboard/mouse support for console players. While Season 9 runs through September, Blizzard has already teased Season 10: Infernal Chaos, promising Chaos Powers and updates to the Infernal Hordes mode.
