The highly anticipated The Sims 4 expansion, Enchanted by Nature, has just released a captivating gameplay trailer. This nearly seven-minute showcase dives deep into the mystical features of the upcoming add-on, offering fans a glimpse of the magical world inspired by Celtic folklore and Irish landscapes.

Electronic Arts officially unveiled this nature-themed expansion on June 12, introducing the long-awaited Fairy Sim type—a feature fans have been clamoring for. Set to launch on July 10 for PC and consoles, Enchanted by Nature promises to bring a fresh wave of enchantment to the beloved life simulation game.

The new trailer, released on June 26, serves as a comprehensive overview of the expansion's features. Among the highlights is the Fairy Abilities system, showcased around the three-minute mark. This system offers a diverse range of mutually exclusive choices, providing players with more customization options than most other mastery trees in The Sims 4.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the trailer is its hint at a potential revamp of PlantSims. Originally introduced in The Sims: Makin’ Magic (2003), PlantSims currently exist in The Sims 4 as a temporary occult form triggered by consuming the Forbidden Fruit. The trailer features several PlantSims, suggesting that EA may be turning this form into a permanent occult type. Notably, Mother Nature appears without wings, further fueling speculation about her being a PlantSim.

The trailer also teases new furniture and building materials, including a sleek glass wall or floor-to-ceiling window spotted at the 1:05 and 6:15 marks. Additionally, a brief scene at 2:55 shows a Fairy without wings, which reappear in the next frame. This could indicate that Fairies will have the ability to conceal their wings at will—a small but exciting detail for players.

While EA has emphasized the expansion's Irish inspiration, the narrator's Scottish accent suggests a broader influence from Gaelo-Celtic culture, encompassing more than just Irish folklore and architecture.
