Genshin Impact's Traveler Voice Actors Confirm Return Post-SAG-AFTRA Strike

The beloved voice actors behind Genshin Impact's male and female Travelers have officially announced they will resume their roles in future game updates. This news comes as a relief to fans who noticed prolonged silence from numerous English-dubbed characters during the recent SAG-AFTRA strike.

Beginning with Version 5.1 in October 2024, multiple Genshin Impact English VAs participated in the SAG-AFTRA strike, advocating for better protections against AI usage in voice acting and other industry concerns. Union regulations prevented these actors from working on non-union projects like Genshin Impact, resulting in many characters going voiceless during crucial story moments. However, with SAG-AFTRA's recent tentative agreement with major game publishers, several actors have begun confirming their return to the game.

Zach Aguilar, who voices male Traveler Aether, shared on Twitter his excitement about returning to the role, expressing gratitude toward HoYoverse. Sarah Miller-Crews, the voice of female Traveler Lumine, similarly confirmed her reprisal. While both actors confirmed their return, Aguilar noted that scheduling conflicts will prevent his voice from appearing in the upcoming Version 5.7 update, though players can expect his return in later patches.

Fans welcomed the news enthusiastically, relieved that the Traveler siblings won't face recasting like some other characters. Notably, Kinich's voice actor was replaced in March 2025, and rumors suggest Paimon and Keqing might also receive new voices in Version 5.7. While some players expressed disappointment about the Travelers remaining silent during Version 5.7's anticipated Archon Quest featuring Dainsleif, others remain hopeful that HoYoverse might retroactively add voice lines to previous content.
