The recent Patch 8.0 announcement came with a tantalizing tease about an upcoming major overhaul to the armor customization system that will give players unprecedented freedom in personalizing their Space Marines.

Space Marine 2 has quickly established itself as one of the most successful titles in the Warhammer 40K franchise, prompting Games Workshop to greenlight development of a sequel. While fans await Space Marine 3, Saber Interactive continues to enhance the current game with meaningful updates.

In their official blog post, Saber described the planned customization changes as "very big," focusing particularly on breaking down class restrictions for Champion Armor parts. Players will soon be able to mix and match these premium armor components across different character classes, though with some limitations to maintain lore consistency and prevent technical issues like clipping.

The current armor system already offers extensive customization options, allowing players to:

However, class-specific restrictions have limited player creativity. The upcoming changes aim to address this while respecting the game's strict adherence to Warhammer 40K lore - a commitment so serious that Saber previously had to redesign ankle armor to meet Games Workshop's specifications.
