The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has received a revolutionary modification that completely transforms its gameplay mechanics. A creative modder has successfully converted this classic fantasy RPG into a first-person shooter, allowing players to wield firearms instead of traditional medieval weapons.

Available on NexusMods, the "Glock - Functional Gun in Oblivion Remastered" mod by CosmicBoogaloo replaces the game's bow mechanics with modern firearm combat. Players can now explore the world of Cyrodiil armed with a pistol, bringing an entirely new dimension to the 2006 classic's remastered version.

Interestingly, Bethesda had previously confirmed that Oblivion Remastered wouldn't receive official mod support. However, the dedicated modding community has found ways to implement significant changes regardless. This persistence mirrors the original game's legacy, where mods greatly extended its lifespan and popularity.

The gun mod offers two implementation options: players can either add the Glock as a standalone weapon to their inventory or completely replace all iron bows with firearms. Currently, players need to use console commands to access the weapon, but the mod creator promises future updates including in-game vendors.

Since its April 2025 release, Oblivion Remastered has seen a surge of creative modifications despite the lack of official tools. The community has produced everything from new faction systems to settlement building mechanics inspired by Fallout 4, demonstrating the game's enduring flexibility.
