This update introduces a revolutionary Warbond Token system that will replace the Steeled Veterans Warbond, offering players greater flexibility in accessing premium content. The change comes as a direct response to community concerns about accidental duplicate purchases of the Steeled Veterans Warbond.

Warbonds in Helldivers 2 function similarly to traditional battle passes but with a key difference - they're not time-limited. These reward systems provide access to exclusive gear, cosmetic items, emotes, and in-game currency. Players can unlock Premium Warbonds either by purchasing Super Credits with real money or by strategically collecting free Super Credits throughout the game.

The August 26 update will implement the Warbond Token as a new method for acquiring Premium Warbonds. Players who own or purchase the Super Citizen Edition will automatically receive this token upon logging in and visiting their shiphub. This token will then allow them to claim any Premium Warbond of their choice, replacing the standard purchase option with a 'Claim Premium Warbond' button.

Currently, the Warbond Token is exclusively available through the Super Citizen Edition Upgrade and won't be sold separately. This decision reflects Arrowhead Game Studios' commitment to balancing player feedback with game development. The studio recently demonstrated this approach with their June 24 update, which addressed various weapon bugs reported by the community.
