Once Human Implements Strict Anti-Cheat Measures with 10-Year Bans
2025-07-03 19:36:06The developers of Once Human have demonstrated zero tolerance for cheating, issuing unprecedented 10-year bans to thousands of players. Starry Studio's survival game has implemented rigorous anti-cheat measures to preserve fair gameplay, showing their commitment to maintaining a balanced gaming environment.
Since its release, Once Human has faced various challenges, including player dissatisfaction with cosmetic pricing and persistent cheating issues. However, the studio has now intensified its efforts against cheaters, banning nearly 4,000 accounts between May and June. Among these, over 1,000 players received decade-long suspensions for severe violations including hacking, exploiting bugs, and griefing.
In a recent Steam Community post, Starry Studio revealed that most banned cheaters received 3,600-day suspensions, effectively removing them from the game for ten years. Additionally, nearly 3,000 players faced temporary bans for toxic behavior, with the longest lasting 30 days.
While Once Human continues to expand with new content, the developers are prioritizing anti-cheat improvements. The latest update introduces a refined detection system developed by analyzing common hacks. Future patches will feature real-time ban notifications, expanded reporting options, and visible ban indicators on player profiles.
The most prevalent cheats include aimbots, ESP tools, and teleportation exploits—similar to those seen in previous ban waves. This crackdown follows a 2024 incident where over 400 players were banned for a decade after exploiting game mechanics.
